Te Tuhi Colour Wheels
We went to Te Tuhi and we learnt about the colour wheel. We learned that the primary colours are blue, red and yellow. We learnt that secondary colours are green, orange and purple. We learnt about tertiary colours too! We painted lime green, red orange and red purple too. Some of us thought it was tricky and some of us thought it was easy. When we made our colour wheel lady bugs the curvy cutting was really tricky. I'm going to practice my curvy cutting more.

I Am Learning To Use The Word Folder
I like using the word folder. It helps me to learn words and how to write them correctly. I have circled the words in my weekend story that I found in the word folder. I know which words I can find in the word folder.

I Am Learning To Draw A Cat
On the tail I used curvy lines. On the body I used swirly spirals, curvy lines and straight lines. My favourite part is the swirly spirals. The trickiest bit was doing the pattern in the tail because it was not very wide.

I Am Learning About Fractions
I worked out that half of six is three. I know how to show half of a rectangle and I knew that it had to be in the middle so the pieces would be equal. I know what a fraction symbol looks like but I forgot that the number on the bottom had to be a four. I know how to show quarters on a rectangle. I think fractions are easy.

I Am Learning To Use Capital Letters And Full Stops
Our learning intention:
We are learning to use capital letters and full stops in the right places.
Our success criteria: Our sentences start with a capital letter - We have used a capital letter for the word ‘I’ - We have used a capital letter for names - We have used full stops at the end of our sentences.
My reflection: I used a capital letter for the word I and I used a full stop at the end of my sentence. My next learning step is to use capital letters at the beginning of all my sentences.

I Am Learning To Draw Myself
First, I sketched myself in my art book, making sure I included all of my features. Then Mrs Millar enlarged my drawing to A3 on the photocopier and I outlined it using a black vivid marker. I coloured my portrait in using pastels. It was tricky to choose the right colours for my hair and eyes!
Welcome to Room 11!
This is me in Room 11. On our Hive of Learning wall display I am a flower. We talked about learning and I said: “Reading is like a dream. It’s like there’s no one there, it’s just me and it’s so quiet.”
